The Arrival of Organizational Society
As organizations become increasingly composed of Knowledge workers, it is necessary for movement from one organization to another to become easier. Unlike society or community, organizations compete with each other for dedicated Knowledge workers as their most fundamental resource. In other words, organizations market themselves for participation, whether it be for employees, volunteers, or mere sympathizers, just like products or services, or even more so. Organizations attract and retain people. They recognize, reward, motivate them, and serve and satisfy them.
In a post-capitalist society, anyone with knowledge must acquire new knowledge every four or five years in any field. Otherwise, they will become outdated.
